My home is a one bedroom apartment with a balcony with a great ocean view! Sit on the balcony and relax, listen to the waves, and watch for fishing boats and sea turtles in the ocean below. Or let the sound of the waves lull you to sleep after watching a beautiful sunset from the walk-out roof.
It is simply furnished but you will have everything you need to enjoy your stay.
Kids are welcome, there is a baby bed, pack and play, and high chair provided, as well as lots of baby toys.
WiFi is included but we do not have a television. We promise you won’t miss it!
From January through March, watch the whales from the balcony. My home is a short walk to a semi-private beach, and a short drive to about a dozen other local beaches.
I will have the apartment professionally cleaned before your arrival, and for a very modest charge, you can have the cleaning lady come at your convenience during your stay to clean, do laundry, do the dishes, and even cook for you if you like.
Cabrera is a small town with a great typical Dominican atmosphere! There are about a dozen beaches within 20 minutes drive. The entire town is walkable, and there are buses that stop right in the center of town. There are some great restaurants where you can have typical Dominican food, which is delicious roasted chicken or fish, rice, and beans, or there are several great authentic Italian restaurants, and even top notch gourmet style with a view of the water. There are some great restaurants on the beaches as well, where you can pick your own fresh caught fish or lobster, and have a freshly made pina colada served in a fresh pineapple,or a coco loco, which is served in a whole coconut.
Cabrera is very near to Playa Grande, which has great surfing, and a little further away is Cabarete which has surfing as well as kite surfing and wind surfing. There is also great world-class golf, diving, sailing, and lots of deep sea fishing nearby.
Check out PlayaGrandeTours.com for a good overview of the things to do in the area. There are four wheeler tours, horseback riding, jeep safaris, and an awesome waterfall to climb.

Also you can take day trips to Samana, Las Terrenas, or Santo Domingo, take a boat trip to ‘Bacardi Island’, or go zip lining at the Monkey Jungle. From January through March, the whales migrate and you can watch them daily from the balcony. You won’t run of of things to do!
We are looking to swap for a month or more in July and/or August of this year (2018). Also open to other swaps!
