Hi there! We are a Home Educating family who love to be outdoors, animals, woodworking, gardening and exploring different cultures.

We are Mum (Sally), Dad (Julian), Auntie (Sue), Gran (Jean) and boy (Sam) aged 8 and are looking to take shorter hosted holidays/vacations and house swaps with other Home School families We are interested in hosting families and being hosted by others, as well as house swaps, as our house is very spacious and we would love to meet and show other families around our beautiful city Brighton, as well as the nearby city of London, which we enjoy visiting regularly to see the free art galleries, the river, historic castles and stately homes, as well as its many musical, theatre attractions and theme parks for kids and adults alike.

Unfortunately, Julian’s job as an IT Manager will not allow him to travel for more than 2 weeks at a time at the moment, so we are looking to house swap for a maximum of 2 weeks any time and are able to either host other families or house swap for 2 weeks. We love the sunshine and outdoors and love to travel anywhere and everywhere! Particularly interested in swaps/hosts in Greece, Florida, California, and Spain. Mum (Sally) is an English language teacher, Auntie is a Marketing Manager and Gran is a retired librarian and now tutors our son in Maths and English.

Brighton is a seaside resort on the south coast of England which is part of the city of Brighton and Hove, East Sussex, 47 miles (75 km) south of London. (One hour by train)

Brighton’s location has made it a popular destination for tourists, renowned for its diverse communities, quirky shopping areas, large cultural, music and arts scene and its large LGBT population, leading to its recognition as the “unofficial gay capital of the UK”.

Brighton attracted 7.5 million day visitors in 2015/16 and 4.9 million overnight visitors, and is the most popular seaside destination in the UK for overseas tourists.

Brighton has also been called the UK’s “hippest city”, and “the happiest place to live in the UK”. I can confirm, it is indeed the “happiest place to stay in the UK”, possibly on earth!

It has a massive, highly active Home Educating community (just inside Brighton and Hove city, you will find approx. 1400 HS families) The Homeschool community in Brighton has a large proportion of “Unschoolers” (they do not follow a curriculum so play and friends are their priority as well as enjoying the natural beauty in and around Brighton.) There are free social groups for Homeschool families happening at a rate of 3 or more a day, just in the city itself. Your kids will not be short of friends during their stay, should they want to meet other Home Schoolers.

But our house is in a quiet area of Brighton, 5 minutes from the seaside and opposite the South Downs, which is an area of natural outstanding beauty.

We hope to hear from you soon!
