We are a family of 4, living in a fantastic neighborhood in Seattle. Our home is a 100-year old Craftsman with 3 bedrooms (one is a finished attic), 1 bathroom, and a great layout. We have a great backyard for playing in, and an edible garden in the front yard. We grow strawberries, raspberries, apples, grapes and various vegetables, with more to be added every year.
We are located in Seattle’s micro-brewing neighborhood, so walking distance to over 15 different breweries, most with child-friendly taprooms. Some are 1 block from our nearest park, so go to the park, then stop and get a beer on the way home. This is a great area for families! We are walking/biking distance to the Ballard, Fremont and Phinney neighborhoods in Seattle, their farmer’s markets, shops, restaurants, cafes, and a movie theater. From our house you can bike to the beach at Golden Gardens (even the kids, if they are used to biking). We are a bus ride to Pike Place Market, and all the rest of downtown Seattle. Or you can bike there.
We are a homeschooling (pretty unschool-y) family, with a very unusual, but place-based work schedule, and we’d love to swap with other families. We are available any time of year, with some advance notice! Our children are 6 and 8 (as of 2017), and we love the outdoors. Nature is always calling to us. We love to bike for our transportation, and specifically chose a walkable neighborhood to live in.
Our house is currently under construction (finishing the attic space), so I’ll add photos later.
