I am a 64 year old very well travelled and experienced hostess for couch surfing and I have lived and worked in 10 countries and travelled in more than 50. My life has been adventurous with many interesting jobs from directing a feminist agency in the States to running our family sheep ranch in Mexico. I also started and sold a successful natural soap business in Ecuador. My heart and my children are in Mexico, so I have established a nest here in a beautiful spot in the mountains of Jalisco.

Casa Moonbeam offers unique accommodation in a solar electric adobe home overlooking t a lake in the mountains of Mascota, Jalisco, Mexico. I know this state and a lot of Mexico very well, and chose this most beautiful spot to make my nest. The adobe ensures great temperatures year round and the huge terrace overlooking the lake and mountains is an amazing spot to birdwatch, smell the pine forest next to the house and become a part of local culture. There is one large ensuite bedroom and full bath, another full bath and open plan kitchen/living area with two sofa beds. The oversized sliding glass doors onto the terrace and full corner windows bring the gorgeous views inside. Mascota is a “pueblo magico” for it’s beautiful scenery and colonial architecture. The house is 500 mts. from the road to the lake and 4 kms. from town over a good road. Two hours from Puerto Vallarta makes the beach an easy day trip. Guadalajara is a 3 hour drive. Lots to explore, very friendly people and wonderful food close by. Come experience rural Mexico at it’s best! Room for camping for larger groups. Jalisco is the home of tequila, mariachi and charros, horse country around here.
