Worldschoolers Summer Camp in Greece

/ 1,611

My family is located in the southern part of Greece, in Laconia region of the Peloponnese and we just love this place! Natural beauty, unspoiled beaches and fabulous food (by the way we follow a plant based diet). Since homeschooling/unschooling is considered illegal in Greece, we decided to follow a more nomadic life by taking a year off from schooling to travel around Europe. Now we are back in our base and to tell you the truth we miss like minded families who can appreciate all that this superb location has to offer and that’s why we make every attempt possible to connect. We even organised the first Worldschoolers summit in January 2016 and we had a great time with our visitors. For the moment I am gaining valuable insights into homeschooling/unschooling from our visitors, since we started organising events here at out Porto Grana worldschoolers hub. It is a fascinating experience to talk with so many different but like minded parents and meeting the children. Personally I follow a secular free thinking attitude towards learning through living our life.

Fancy a week full of activities with your kids in one of the “best kept secret” locations in Europe? This is a unique opportunity to meet and get to know other like minded parents from all over the world and have the chance to explore the hidden treasures of this irresistible place. This is an invitation to all homeschoolers/unschoolers and worldschooling families, to join us for a memorable week, which we will spend visiting interesting locations (some of them off the beaten track) like the old Frankish castle town of Monemvasia (the Gibraltar of the Aegean sea) , the magnificent caves of Diros or the famous Simos beach in Elafonisos, while hiking in a gorge and mountain biking (Podilatoparea, the bicycle lending club is located next to our hub), given plenty of options to discover the unspoilt scenery of southeastern Lakonia in the Peloponnese. Activities will include getting to know the traditional local vegeterian cuisine and lots of sea sports.

Accommodation for seven nights will be covered by camping on the beach. Pick up (and return journey) from Athens international airport is included, as well as the prearranged excursions (tickets for archaelogical sites and museums are extra).
Our hub’s facilities for internet, cooking and washing will be free to use, after prior arrangement, for the participants and members of their families (have a look at the description of Porto Grana Hub for details).

Come and join our company for an exciting week, exchanging ideas and practises about worldschooling and homeschooling while we give our kids the chance to make new friends and learn through the eploration of other cultures and attitudes. This is going to be fun for everybody!
Please book your places on time as the airfare tickets to Athens are quite low during early summer as long as there is a registered booking. We need to know the number of all the participants by the 215th of June in order to make required arrangements. .
For registration or more info and details please feel free to ask by sending an email to portograna@gmail.com with the subject: Worldschoolers Summer camp 2017.
We are all looking forward to meeting you in Lakonia this summer!
